One day a hare laughed at small feet and slow pace of the tortoise. tortoise grinned, "You may be swift as wind, but I will beat you in race."
"Simply impossible," hare answered, laughed and agreed to race.
They agreed that the fox should choose the way and wait at winning post.
On day of race the two started together.
The tortoise never stopped for moment, but went on with slow, but steady pace straight to end of course.
The hare, however, fell fast asleep when lying down by wayside.
Waking up, and moving as fast as he could, he saw that tortoise had reached winning post and was comfortably dozing in sunshine.
